Bill is a seasoned consulting leader with decades of extensive healthcare experience in clinical departments, administration, and consulting. He specializes in various clinical areas, creating an efficient and effective environment for leadership, physicians, and staff to achieve outstanding patient care, with a focus on establishing stable department leadership, utilizing patient flow and throughput models, developing quality and performance indicators, and furthering staff education. As an experienced clinician, Bill employs a practical and thoughtful approach to change management to guide clients through the complex process of identifying and implementing significant operational changes.
Prior to joining ECG, Bill was a senior principal at GE Healthcare Partners. Before that role, he was chief operating officer and owner of Novia Strategies, a leading process, financial, and quality improvement firm, where he specialized in blending the financial constraints faced by hospitals and healthcare systems with quality outcomes, while creating a sense of partnership between physicians and C-suite executives. As senior vice president at Huron Consulting Group, Bill served as the national clinical leader of the nonlabor cost reduction practice, achieving more than $300 million in client savings. Bill is the founder of the Baylor Surgical Services Institute and served as the executive producer for the award-winning Pathways© Continuing Education Video Series.
