Todd’s experience working with teaching hospitals and schools of medicine (SOMs) has made him an asset to clients as they deal with increased financial scrutiny and tightening margins. With extensive knowledge of the tripartite mission, Todd is able to interpret complex data to help healthcare executives and academic leaders make informed decisions about strategic investments across the components of an academic medical center (AMC). Clients value Todd’s skill in managing relationships and providing meaningful and pragmatic results.
Since joining ECG in 2019, Todd’s work has encompassed strategic planning, AMC funds flow redesign, graduate medical education program development, and SOM resource allocation. He has evaluated and redesigned $2 billion worth of funds flow arrangements for a leading AMC in the western US to increase transparency, align incentives, and promote financial sustainability, and implemented funds flows have exceeded $700 million. For an Ivy League medical school, he facilitated joint planning activities among physician leadership, health system executives, and medical school administration to develop a strategic plan. His work also includes assisting multiple SOMs in conducting financial performance assessments and identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved resource allocation.
