Stuart is a healthcare administration professional with substantial experience in practice management, physician compensation, and physician-hospital relationships. As health organizations navigate a complex regulatory and competitive environment, Stuart’s clients value his expertise in strategic planning, compensation plan development, and physician-hospital contracting negotiations.
Stuart has worked closely with a wide variety of roles within provider organizations, from service line administrators and physicians to academic leadership and frontline staff. In doing so, he has developed a deep understanding of the importance of cultivating collaborative relationships between stakeholders when implementing or considering substantive change. Most recently, Stuart’s focus has been helping hospitals and health systems foster these strong partnerships with community and employed physicians by assessing both parties’ value proposition and ensuring that compensation plans and service contracts are aligned with the operational and financial objectives of the organization. Before joining ECG, Stuart worked at UT LeBonheur Pediatric Specialists (ULPS), a joint venture positioned between University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare. Acting as interim director of finance, Stuart helped guide ULPS’s growth initiatives, seeing the practice grow from 100 providers across 15 specialties to more than 160 providers across 23 specialties.
