Filipe is a healthcare professional who possesses a wealth of knowledge in utilizing healthcare data to increase value for health organizations and improve patient health outcomes. With healthcare costs rising and health organizations looking to make informed decisions on the best path forward, Filipe brings value through innovative analyses that address the complexity of the healthcare system and provide meaningful, data-based direction toward ongoing healthcare trends. Filipe is skilled at using data analytics, industry knowledge, and novel methodologies to help clients generate revenue, improve the patient experience, and guide their decision-making in an increasingly difficult healthcare landscape.

Prior to joining ECG, Filipe worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). As a member of the strategic informatics and program performance team in the healthcare value division, Filipe was responsible for evaluating over 30 healthcare programs set to generate value for BCBSM. Through large-scale data analyses, he compared reports from external vendors to internal sources and developed potential opportunities for over $150 million in increased savings, presenting these analyses to both internal and external leadership teams. During his time at BCBSM, Filipe also analyzed initiatives ranging from prior authorization programs, value-based care management programs, risk-based contracting, clinical editing, and provider auditing, as well as fulfilling general ad hoc analytics requests coming from leadership teams.
