Prior to joining ECG, Filipe worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). As a member of the strategic informatics and program performance team in the healthcare value division, Filipe was responsible for evaluating over 30 healthcare programs set to generate value for BCBSM. Through large-scale data analyses, he compared reports from external vendors to internal sources and developed potential opportunities for over $150 million in increased savings, presenting these analyses to both internal and external leadership teams. During his time at BCBSM, Filipe also analyzed initiatives ranging from prior authorization programs, value-based care management programs, risk-based contracting, clinical editing, and provider auditing, as well as fulfilling general ad hoc analytics requests coming from leadership teams.
