Ed is an experienced healthcare finance professional who draws upon his diverse background to assist clients with a broad array of financial and strategic planning initiatives. He facilitates hospital-physician arrangements, strategic transactions, and joint ventures with a focus on generating partnerships that will support his clients’ long-term strategic goals. Ed’s ability to combine detailed, technical analyses with thoughtful and creative solutions allows him to add value when working through the financial and operational challenges faced by today’s provider organizations.
At ECG, Ed supports strategic mergers and acquisitions, partnership development, and financial planning for health systems, hospitals, and medical groups. Recent examples of notable project work include creating a vision, strategy, and financial feasibility assessment for a $110 million joint venture women’s and children’s hospital in the Midwest; supporting the affiliation of a long-standing, independent hospital with a regional health system in Oregon; and facilitating the negotiation of a medical group–hospital arrangement worth $500 million in annual funding. Prior to joining ECG, Ed was a finance and operations manager for the Permanente Medical Group at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center.
