I was drawn to the healthcare field because at the core of the industry is the desire and potential to positively impact a person’s life. At ECG, we have the opportunity to help our clients transform the way that healthcare is delivered, improve the infrastructure that enables scientific discovery, and even determine the best pathway to train the healthcare providers of the future.
Andrea’s wealth of experience in medical education and research planning makes her an ideal partner for university and community-based teaching hospitals, as well as historically nonteaching hospitals seeking to align their academic investments with organizational strategic goals. Her in‑depth expertise in GME finance, Medicare reimbursement regulations, and ACGME program accreditation requirements enables her to provide support at all stages of GME enterprise development. Additionally, Andrea’s extensive involvement with regulatory affairs, grants management, and contract negotiation allows her to assist AMCs with tackling transformative initiatives across medical education and research missions. Healthcare executives and academic leaders have come to rely on Andrea’s guidance and judgment when making decisions that have significant implications for their academic and research missions.
Since joining ECG in 2016, Andrea has assisted academic organizations in developing actionable solutions to their most challenging endeavors. She focuses on partnering with teaching hospitals and medical schools to improve the operational and financial performance of their academic enterprises. Her recent experiences include creating financial models to illustrate the potential Medicare reimbursement and operating costs associated with launching GME programs at new teaching hospitals, as well as establishing a joint research collaborative and negotiating a master research affiliation agreement between a major state university medical school and a regional health system.
