Antara has experience in patient access, health equity, and statistical analysis. She pursued a graduate degree specializing in biostatistics to apply data-driven solutions to healthcare challenges, with a goal of improving access to healthcare services and optimizing the clinic workflow to ensure patients can be seen. Her aim is to understand the operations of the healthcare system and strategically use business knowledge and data to implement informed changes while consistently considering the broader impact on the hospital and the overall healthcare system.
During graduate school, Antara worked as a patient access specialist at the Oregon Health and Science University primary care clinic at the main campus in Portland. In this role, she gained hands-on experience with clinic workflow logistics, primary care models, and the Epic system. Additionally, while completing her degree, Antara learned how to complete and interpret linear and logistic regression models in R. For her final project with Clark County Public Health's Health Evaluation and Assessment team, she analyzed 10 years of mortality data. She worked extensively with large datasets in Microsoft Excel and RStudio to produce four key deliverables: a final data report, an R script for data analysis, recommendations for future research and interventions targeting preventable causes of death, and a presentation summarizing her findings. Her work will be used to inform other county research projects to improve awareness of necessary resources and policy recommendations.
