Chicago, IL – October 26, 2018 – On October 12, Community Hospital of Grand Junction announced that it had signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Centura Health. Community Hospital achieved this milestone after completing a comprehensive strategic partnership development process that carefully analyzed and explored how numerous regional healthcare service providers and health systems could potentially work and collaborate with the organization to serve its mission and meet the future needs of its communities.
Community Hospital’s decision to undertake this partnership development process, which ultimately identified Centura Health as its optimal partner, reflects its long-term commitment to compassionate, high-quality healthcare in the Grand Valley. This partnership is a proactive step in ensuring Community Hospital remains well positioned to continue meeting the needs of Colorado’s Western Slope and Eastern Utah as the healthcare environment continues to evolve.
The execution of the LOI with Centura Health is an important milestone in a thorough and comprehensive process managed and led by ECG Management Consultants, a healthcare consulting firm that was engaged by Community Hospital. The highly customized process undertaken by ECG resulted in multiple proposals from local and national healthcare organizations, all of which outlined potential innovative partnership opportunities for Community Hospital.
“Community Hospital’s strong reputation for providing the highest levels of care—combined with its mission and commitment to serving patients and communities in the Western Slope region and beyond—contributed to heightened interest in the partnership opportunity. We very much look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with the Centura Health team as we enter the final phase of the process,” said Hector Torres, Principal and head of ECG’s Mergers, Acquisitions, and Partnerships practice. Over the next few months, ECG will continue to advise and support Community Hospital through negotiations, due diligence, and post-merger integration planning and implementation.
